A few weeks ago, Honor became completely independent of Huawei and the company has no ties with Huawei anymore. This means that the ban on Huawei should not affect Honor and its smartphone business should run smoothly. Since the independence of Honor, it has been quite silent in the industry. However, we already have confirmations that the Honor V40 series will be its first smartphone after independence.
As the new year approaches, major mobile phone manufacturers will successively launch a variety of new phones. Among them, the highly anticipated Honor V40 series is expected to be officially launched in January next year.
A recent leak from a Weibo leakster shows the screen protector of the Honor V40. Looking at the image, the Honor V40 uses a pill-shaped punch hole on the top left of the display. This design shows that it will have dual front cameras. The pill-shaped punch hole is slender and the overall size of the phone is relatively thin.
Furthermore, the curvature of the film edge confirms that the Honor V40 will use a curved screen. This will be the first tie that an Honor V series will use an OLED curved screen. Taking a closer look at the curvature, it seems to be comparable to that of the Mate 40 series.
Honor V40 (YOK-AN10) has since passed the 3C certification which shows that this device will come with a 66W fast charging source adapter (HW-110600C00). There are also reports that this phone will actually support 66W+45W dual fast charging.
According to previous speculations, the Honor V40 will use a 6.72-inch 120Hz+300Hz dual-hole curved screen. Under the hood, all speculations point to the Dimensity 1000+ SoC. However, we are yet to get any official confirmation in this regard.
There are also speculations that a model of the V40 series will use the Snapdragon 888 SoC. As of now, we can not tell how true this information is thus it is best to take it with a pinch of salt.
