There is a current trend in the smartphone industry that many users will not like. A few months ago at the launch of the iPhone 12 series, the company announced that there will not be any charger in the box. Well, it appears that Android manufacturers are beginning to copy this trend. There have been speculations that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Galaxy S21 series will not have a charger in the box. Well, another Android phone maker, Xiaomi, just confirmed that it will not include a charger in the box of the Xiaomi Mi 11 series.
According to the company, its decision is due to environmental protection calls. Xiaomi said
“…Mi 11 cancels the in-box charger in response to the call for technology and environmental protection. Today, everyone has a lot of idle chargers. This is not entirely good and a burden on the environment”.
The Xiaomi Mi 11 series is due to launch on December 28th and it will come with a lot of interesting features. This will be the first smartphone to use the Snapdragon 888 SoC. There will also be improvements in the display, camera, charging technology, etc.
The company has confirmed that the Mi 11 series will use a new computational photography technology. This tech brings amazing breakthroughs in high-end imaging. We expect to see a 108MP camera in one of the models in this series.
According to Xiaomi’s CEO. Lei Jun, the Mi 11 series screen is very expensive. He claims that it is the most-expensive display ever made for a Xiaomi Phone. The cost of the display is comparable to the price of many mainstream TVs.
To protect this really expensive display, Xiaomi uses a Corning Gorilla Glass 7. This glass is both drop-resistant and scratch-resistant. The Xiaomi Mi 11 series will be the second smartphone ever and the first Chinese phone to use the Corning Gorilla Glass 7.
The Xiaomi Mi 11 series will have at least two models – Xiaomi Mi 11 and Mi 11 Pro. According to reports, the regular model will use a hyperboloid screen while the Pro model comes with a 2K quad-curved screen. All the models in the series will use a 120Hz refresh rate display.
For charging, there will be 100W super-fast charging and 120W fast charging. While the regular model will use the former, the Pro model will use the latter. The Mi 11 also comes with a 4780mAh battery capacity while the Pro model uses a 4970mAh battery.
In the camera department, the standard version will use a triple rear camera setup. The configuration is 108 MP + 13 MP + 5 MP. However, the Pro model will come with a quad-rear camera setup and the configuration is 50 MP + 48 MP + 20 MP + 12 MP. It is interesting that the main sensor of the regular model is higher than that of the Pro model.
